The pleasure of your company is requested to celebrate the life and romance of Anna Niess and Matthew Bower.

They’ve been enjoying their time together for five years now, and at this point it feels appropriate for them to be married. Join the couple’s family and friends in toasting their solidarity, since the winter sun shows how soon the light fades from the ash, how soon night enfolds us.

Event Details

Dinner and a party will follow a short marriage ceremony, both held at the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe in Manhattan. Unfortunately due to restrictions on the venue, children under twelve cannot be accomodated.

The celebration draws upon the allegorical imagery of the 17th century vanitas. Guests are invited to dress in a style befitting the theme — dark wave, goth formal, or baroque disco. Cocktail attire is also welcome.

Your presence is the greatest gift of all. However, if you’d like to honor the couple with something more material, they have registered here.

Travel Information

Housing works book store and cafe is located in the Soho neighborhood of downtown Manhattan. It is accessible by several public transit lines from Brooklyn, Midtown, and New Jersey via the B,D,F,M,6,N, and R trains. You can also get there easily by taxi.
